Playing cards?

Studying the textures of the city, whether thats the patterns on the tube seats, or the signs and pavements. The design of the card could have these colourful arrangements as a homage to the fabrics of the capital. Theres this use thats more than novelty with cards and they have been around for decades, so would be great to put a modern and fresh spin on them.

Visiting the museum not only gave an insight to Londons past but more importantly the many forms of london based souvenirs that are being sold. As a group working on the development of the souvenir, we studied the obvious past but looked deeper. The shop widened our approach to the 'typical' souvenir, and showed the paths that havent properly been investigated and turned into somet hing quite interesting.

De-coding the city

Image
To get underneath this project and to produce an honest interpretation of what we want, we looked at what makes London. Whether an off licence or the weather, we looked at whats the city's life is. The people. Personally for me its the speed, rush hour is the pursuit to get somewhere and things get intense.

Pub visit

Started the day with a pint and discussed our first move. Follow 'souveniroflondon' on Instagram, which will be our mood board of London. Documenting textures and visuals of our experiences. It is what it is.

This is a £3.99 souvenir of London. A condom. London, latex and wit have never complemented each other so well, this is the beginning of the process that shows a group of people create an honest and true depiction of London in souvenir form. An essence of our experiences of the city will be the backbone of this documentary of inspirations and progress behind its making.
